Armed Robbery of Gaithersburg Pizza Hut

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are seeking help from the public to identify the suspect responsible for an armed robbery of the Pizza Hut located in the 200 block of Muddy Branch Road in the Festival Shopping Center in Gaithersburg, that occurred today, December 26.

At approximately 1:43 p.m. police received a call from a woman who had called the Pizza Hut to order a pizza. When her call was answered she was told that the store was being robbed and she could hear someone demanding money.

Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg City Police arrived on the scene and confirmed that an armed robbery of the business had occurred. The investigation revealed that the suspect, armed with a gun, had obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen fleeing the store on foot. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a cap and dark jacket.
