Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Serious Pedestrian Collision in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. this evening on Wisteria Drive just north of Route 118 in Germantown.

Preliminary investigation revealed that for reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was crossing Wisteria Drive from East to West and was struck in the northbound lanes outside the crosswalk.  The pedestrian's identity had not been confirmed but investigators believe he is an Hispanic male in his 30's.

The driver of the vehicle, a white 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis, is identified as 51-year-old Ousmane Seydi of the 13600 block of Winterspoon Lane in Germantown. The driver remained on the scene and is assisting with the investigation.

The pedestrian remains in grave condition at a local hospital.
