Detectives Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the 3rd District are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who physically assaulted and robbed an elderly female victim in the Briggs Chaney area on January 15.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., the victim was exiting the Safeway grocery store located at 13814 Outlet Drive when the suspect approached her from behind, threw the victim to the ground and robbed her of an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the area on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries due to the assault and was treated on the scene by Fire/Rescue.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, approximately 6’1” tall, weighing 190 pounds. He was wearing a black knit hat, dark blue puffy jacket, light khaki pants, and wearing a black backpack.
