Police Ask for Public's Assistance in Locating Two Missing Gaithersburg Juveniles

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Family Crimes Division are asking for the public’s help in locating two missing juveniles from Gaithersburg.

Karina Cornejo-Galdmaez, age 12, of the 9300 block of Merust Lane in Montgomery Village, was last seen at Montgomery Village Middle School on January 23 at the time of dismissal (approximately 2:30 p.m.).  Karina is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’00’’ tall, and weighing 105 pounds.  She has brown eyes, brown shoulder length hair, and has a piercing on the right side of her lower lip.  She was  last seen wearing a black, North Face jacket, blue jeans, and a black shirt.

Rosa Rivas- Ascencio, age 14, of the 18000 block of Nathans Place in Gaithersburg, was last seen at Neelsville Middle School in Germantown on January 23 at the time of dismissal (approximately 2:30 pm).  Rosa is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’03” tall, and weighing 113 pounds.  She has brown eyes and black shoulder length hair.  She was last seen wearing a gray sweater and dark blue jeans.

Based on detectives' investigation, it is believed that the two juveniles are traveling together and may be in the area of Langley Park, Maryland.  Police and family are concerned for the girls' welfare because of their ages and because of the length of time they have been away from home.
