MCP Redistricting to Take Effect on February 4th

For Immediate Release: Friday, February 1, 2013

Effective at 12:00 a.m. on February 4th (Monday morning), the Montgomery County Police Department will begin operations under new district boundaries.

Reasons for this change include:

• improved service to residents with a more balanced workload between police districts.
• the new location of the PSHQ to 100 Edison Park Drive in Gaithersburg.
• the future re-location of the the 1st District station to the PSHQ.
• improved officer safety.

Planning for the redistricting has been ongoing throughout the Department and all districts are prepared to handle the changes without interruption in police operations.

All county and district maps have been updated on www.mcpnews.com to reflect the new district boundaries.  For any questions about the district in which you live, please contact your District Station.
