Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Olney

For Immediate Release: Friday, February 1, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred this afternoon in Olney.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the 4^th District and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of the 16600 block of Batchellors Forest Road for the report of a single vehicle collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that for reasons still under investigation, a black 2005 Ford Focus left the roadway and struck a tree. The rear passenger, identified as Earl Dong-Min Lee, age 19, of the 3300 block of Norbeck Road, died of his injuries at the scene.  The driver, identified as Brandon Drake Goodman, age 21, of Brinkwood Road in Brookville, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The front seat passenger, identified as David Lankford Hampp, age 21, of the 18900 block of Bloomfield Road in Olney, was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.  Investigators are asking anyone who has information about this collision to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.  Callers may remain anonymous.
