Detectives Release Photographs of Silver Spring Robbery Suspects

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate two strong-armed robberies that they believe were committed by the same three suspects.  Today, detectives are releasing photographs of the three suspects and are asking for the public's help in identifying them.

On January 16 at approximately 9:44 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the area of Colesville Road and East-West Highway for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation has revealed that the 31-year-old male victim was walking in the 8300 block of Colesville Road when a subject grabbed him from behind and pulled him to the ground.  Two other suspects then searched the victim's person and stole property.  The three suspects were last seen running into a parking garage on Colesville Road.

On January 17 at approximately 1:46 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the area of Colesville Road and East-West Highway for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that two friends were walking together on Colesville Road when they were approached by three suspects.  At the intersection of East-West Highway and Colesville Road, one of the suspects grabbed a 25-year-old victim's cellular phone and punched him in the face.  The other victim (also age 25) attempted to assist his friend and was also punched in his face.  The three suspects fled on foot.

The three suspects are described by victims as black males and approximately 25 to 30 years of age.  One suspect was wearing a black hoodie jacket and another suspect was wearing a tan jacket and had a mustache.  Detectives obtained surveillance photographs of the suspects entering a building located in the area of the two robberies.
