Police Investigate Serious Pedestrian Collision on Old Georgetown Road

Officers from the 2nd District Traffic Squad are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred in Bethesda this morning.

At approximately 9:37 a.m., 2nd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a call for a pedestrian struck on Old Georgetown Road just north of Alta Vista Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a silver 2006 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Old Georgetown Road.  The Honda struck a 59-year-old male pedestrian who was in the southbound lanes of Old Georgetown Road just north of Alta Vista Road.  The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The pedestrian was transported to Suburban Hospital where he remains in serious condition and is undergoing treatment.  He has been identified as William George Cole of an unconfirmed address.  The driver of the Honda has been identified as Remy Jean Pascal Bosselut, age 52, of the 6000 block of Chatsworth Lane in Bethesda.

The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.
