Police Investigate Home Invasion Shooting

For Immediate Release: Thursday, March 21, 2013

This morning at approximately 12:46 am, 4th District officers responded to a residence in the 13000 block of Freeland Road in the Aspen Hill area for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.  At the home, police located a 14-year-old female who had been shot in the ankle and a 55-year-old male who had been shot in the upper body.

Preliminary investigation by Robbery detectives has revealed that just before 12:46 a.m., two suspects forced entry through a door into the home on Freeland Road.  The armed suspects demanded money from the house residents.  During the interaction between the suspects and residents, a 14-year-old female and a 55-year old male were shot.  After the shooting, the suspects fled from the home.  The suspects are described as white males who are both between the ages of 20 and 25.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, detectives believe there is some association between the suspects and residents.

Anyone who has information regarding this shooting and/or the suspects involved is asked to contact the Robbery Section at 240-773-5100.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or leave a Crime Solvers tip here.  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.
