Update: Identities Released in Germantown Deaths

For Immediate Release: Monday, April 8, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Sex Section are continuing to investigate two deaths that occurred this morning in GermantownThese deaths are now being investigated as a murder-suicide.

The male victim has been identified as Adam Anthony Arndt, age 31, of the 12900 block of Pinnacle Drive in Germantown.  The female victim has been identified as Michelle Lynne Miller, age 17, of the 5100 block of Russett Road in Rockville.  Miller was a 12th grade student at Rockville High School.

Detectives now believe that Arndt shot Miller and then shot himself.

Further investigation revealed that Arndt and Miller knew each other due to Arndt's assignment as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and Miller's plans to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserves following her graduation from high school.
