Police Investigate Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle that occurred this afternoon on Route 29 near the Montgomery County and Howard County line.

Today, at approximately 1:13 p.m., 3rd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the bridge on Route 29  at the Montgomery County/Howard County line for the report of a personal injury collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a red 2012 Kawasaki ZX-6 motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 29 entering Montgomery County.  For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle began to wobble as it crossed over the bridge.  As a result, the motorcycle fell to the ground, and the rider was ejected from the motorcycle.  The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene of the collision.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Ryan Andrew Keller, age 26, of the 6300 block of Gray Sea Way in Columbia, Maryland.
