Update: Additional Details Released in Cartier Jewelry Store Robbery

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are continuing to investigate the robbery of a jewelry store that occurred this morning in Chevy Chase.

Today, at approximately 11:08 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Cartier jewelry store located at 5471 Wisconsin Avenue for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that multiple suspects wearing gloves and masks entered and took control of the store for less than one minute.  During that time, the suspects broke a display case in the rear of the store and removed property.  The suspects then fled from the store.  Four employees were inside of the store but were not injured during the robbery.

Upon arriving at the jewelry store, officers observed the suspects leaving the scene in a black late model Dodge Charger bearing two different license plates.  A short pursuit ensued, but the pursuit was terminated on southbound Connecticut Avenue at the Washington, D.C. line.  The suspect vehicle was last seen making a left-hand turn on to Porter Street in Washington, D.C.
