Detectives Investigating Report of Shooting in Montgomery Village

For Immediate Release: Monday, May 20, 2013

Detectives from the 5th/6th District Investigative Section are investigating the report that a shooting occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. today in Montgomery Village.

The preliminary information included that an anonymous individual reported witnessing the shooting of a male victim. When responding 6th District officers arrived, they could not locate a victim. Shortly thereafter the police Emergency Communications Center received information that an area emergency facility was treating a male for a recent gunshot wound.

At this stage of the investigation, detectives are investigating whether the adult male receiving treatment for a gunshot wound, was shot in the Montgomery Village area.

The individual is being treated for a serious injury, but at this time, it does not appear to be a life-threatening injury.
