Identity of Victim in Parking Garage Collapse Released

For Immediate Release: Friday, May 24, 2013

On May 23, at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers from the 2nd District and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to Westfield Montgomery Mall located at 7101 Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda for a report of a partial collapse of the parking garage.

Once units arrived on scene, it was learned two people were trapped inside the structure. After approximately three hours, Fire/Rescue was successful in rescuing one of the patients.  The other patient was pronounced deceased.

The deceased patient has been identified as Carroll Dexter Wills, age 57, of the 1600 block of Mason Court in Prince Frederick, Maryland.
