Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in White Oak

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred yesterday in the White Oak area.

Yesterday, at approximately 1:47 p.m., officers from the 3rd District responded to the Capital One Bank located at 11261 New Hampshire Avenue for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and produced a note demanding money.  The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then fled from the bank.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20's, 5'5" to 5'6" tall, and weighing 150 to 190 pounds.  He was wearing glasses and a baseball hat and had his hair styled in long dreadlocks.  He was dressed in a yellow long-sleeved shirt and black or blue jeans.

Today, detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect involved in this bank robbery and asking for the public's assistance in identifying him.
