Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Rockville

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a suspicious death that occurred today at a residence in the 9800 block of Juniper Hill Road in Rockville.

At approximately 6:24 a.m., Police and Fire Rescue units responded to a call for an adult male that was not breathing.  Upon arrival, officers found a 50-year-old male who was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the victim got into an altercation with his 19-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter.  The son then called 911 to report that his father was not breathing.

The victim is identified as Chandrasekhar Korapati, age 50, of Juniper Hill Road in Rockville.

The cause and manner of death are under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.  The son and daughter, along with other family members, are being interviewed by detectives.  No charges have been placed at this time.
