Suspicious Death in Rockville Ruled a Homicide

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the death of Chandrasekhar Korapati, age 50, of the 9800 block of Juniper Hill Road, in Rockville.  His death has now been ruled a homicide by asphyxia by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

On July 11, 2013 at approximately 6:24 a.m., Police and Fire/Rescue units responded to the victim's residence after his son called 911 to report that his father was not breathing.   Based on the detectives' preliminary investigation, it is believed that the victim got into an altercation with his 19-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter.

The State's Attorney's Office and Major Crimes Division detectives are reviewing the case.  No charges have been placed at this time.
