Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Gaithersburg

For Immediate Release: Sunday, July 21, 2013

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a suspicious death in Gaithersburg.  Police were called to a pond near the entrance of the Nike Missile Park in the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. today after a passerby reported a body in the pond.  Police and Fire/Rescue units located and recovered the body of an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

Investigators have learned that the Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to this location on Friday night, July 19 after someone reported finding clothes near the pond.  The clothes were recovered and investigators from both agencies are working to determine if these two incidents are related.
