Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary in Silver Spring

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section have been investigating a commercial burglary that occurred on June 20 in Silver Spring.  Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photo of the suspect and asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.

On June 20, at approximately 9:57 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Obesity Society located at 8757 Colesville Road for the report of a burglary that had occurred earlier.  Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the building and then forced entry into the Obesity Society office suite.  Once inside the suite, the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the building.  The suspect was captured on surveillance video leaving the building at approximately 9:00 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, age 28 to 35, 5'8" to 5'10" tall, with a heavy build.  He has black, medium-length hair.  The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and Nike high-top sneakers.  The sneakers were white and aqua blue with orange trim.
