Police Seek Public's Help to Identify a Strong-Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 2^nd District Investigative Section are asking the public for help to identify the suspect responsible for a recent strong-armed robbery in Rockville. Detectives have worked with the victim to produce a computer-generated composite drawing that is believed to strongly resemble the suspect.

On Sunday, July 21 at approximately 10:13 p.m., 2^nd District officers responded to the Grosvenor House apartment building parking garage at 10101 Grosvenor Place in Rockville, for the report of a strong-armed robbery that had just occurred. The investigation revealed that the adult female victim had parked her car and was walking toward a stairwell. Just as she entered the stairwell, the suspect grabbed the victim from behind, forcibly removed her purse from her shoulder and fled. The victim followed the suspect on foot and observed him enter and drive away in a black vehicle with a Maryland license plate.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 40’s, 5’9” tall, with a round face, heavy build and a medium to dark complexion. He had very short black hair, and facial hair to include a mustache and longer unshaven hair on his chin. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a short-sleeved red t-shirt, dark shorts, white gym socks that reached mid-calf, sneakers. He had a white towel around his neck.
