Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division and the 1st District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred this morning in Germantown.

Today, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers from the 1st and 5th Districts responded to a home in the 17400 block of Onax Drive for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. Officers found an adult male, age 22, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.

The preliminary investigation revealed that multiple suspects forced their way into the house.  Once inside, an altercation occurred resulting in the victim being shot.    The surrounding area was searched by K-9 teams with the assistance of the U.S. Park Police helicopter but no suspects were located.  The circumstances that led to the shooting are still under investigation.

Detectives believe that the parties involved may know each other.   Other adults that were in the house at the time have been interviewed.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
