Photos of 7-Eleven Robbery Suspect Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating the robbery of a 7-Eleven that occurred on August 10 in Silver Spring.  Detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On August 10 at approximately 2:49 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 8619 16th Street in Silver Spring for the report of a robbery.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store and began to place items on the counter for purchase.  The suspect then walked behind the counter and began to punch the cashier.  The suspect then threw the cashier to the ground and kicked him several times.  After ordering the clerk to open the cash register and removing an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled on foot from the store.  The 32-year-old cashier suffered minor injuries to his face and was transported by Fire&Rescue to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5'6" to 5'9" tall and weighing 130 to 155 pounds.
