Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Damascus

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle in Damascus.

On Friday, September 6 at 11:35 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the 9500 block of Hawkins Creamery Road for a personal injury collision.  Upon arrival, officers located a 2012 Harley Dynaglide Switchback that had left the roadway.

Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hawkins Creamery Road.  For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole. The driver was thrown from motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim is identified as Kenneth Alan Burch, age 53, of Clarksburg, Maryland.
