Detectives Investigate Homicide in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred in Germantown this morning.

On Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 7:46 a.m., persons in the area of the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive reported to 911 that they heard several gunshots.  Patrol officers located a 49-year-old Germantown woman in the roadway suffering from at least one gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.  Her identity will be released once next-of-kin have been notified.

Detectives have no suspect information at this point.  This crime occurred between Rt. 118 and Middlebrook Road near a busy convenience store.  Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious this morning is asked to call the police department's non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
