Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning at a Capital One bank in Gaithersburg.

This morning, at approximately 9:11 a.m., 6th District officers responded to the Capital One bank located at 12 Bureau Drive for a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.  Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller, and presented a note demanding money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Detectives have obtained surveillance photos and are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.  The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11" tall, and weighing approximately 240 to 250 pounds.  He was wearing a black hat, a gray zip-up sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants.
