Detectives Release Composite in Cold Case Investigation

For Immediate Release: Friday, November 22, 2013

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Cold Case Unit are re-releasing a composite drawing of a man suspected in sexual assaults that occurred in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including Wheaton, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park, in the mid-1970's.

As part of the investigation that began in the 1970's, detectives spoke to a witness who described a still-unidentified male subject that was seen in the area of where one of the incidents occurred in Wheaton.  A composite of this subject was created from the witness description over 35 years ago.

Today, detectives are re-releasing this composite in hopes that someone may recognize the subject.  Also, detectives believe that there may be additional victims of the subject depicted in the composite.  Detectives also hope that these victims may come forward and assist in identifying the subject and help in tracking his whereabouts in the 1970's.

The man was described (in the mid-1970's) as a white male, in his late teens or early-20's, 5'11" tall, and weighing approximately 140 pounds.  He was described as having acne scars on the left side of his face.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the subject in the composite is asked to contact the Cold Case Unit at 240-773-5070.
