Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division have been investigating two bank robberies at two PNC Banks that occurred on December 2 and December 4.

On December 6, Leonard Forrest, age 47, of the 11300 block of Schuylkill Road in Rockville was arrested after committing another bank robbery of a PNC Bank in Washington, DC.

Montgomery County Police detectives were notified of the Washington, DC bank robbery and determined that Forrest was the same suspect that was involved in the December 2 and December 4 robberies.

In conjunction with the Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI investigation, Montgomery County detectives obtained a search warrant for the Schuylkill Road address.  The search warrant was executed and numerous items of evidentiary value were recovered that linked Forrest to the PNC Bank robberies in Montgomery County.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Forrest charging him with the December 2 and December 4 bank robberies.  Forrest is currently in custody in Washington, DC for the December 6 bank robbery.  The arrest warrant will be served upon Forrest's return to Montgomery County.
