Detectives Investigate Silver Spring Bank Robbery-Photograph Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday at a Wells Fargo Bank in Silver Spring.  Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On Tuesday, January 21 at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers responded to the Wells Fargo bank located at 8701 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring for the report of a bank robbery.

Investigation revealed that the male suspect entered the bank, implied that he had a weapon, and demanded cash.  The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and exited the bank.  He was last seen running on Fenwick Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'00" tall, with a medium build.
