Detectives Continue to Investigate Series of Gas Station Robberies - Photographs Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division continue to investigate three gas station robberies that occurred in August of 2013 that are believed to have been committed by the same suspect.  Investigators have been able to enhance the quality of surveillance photographs of the suspect and are releasing these photographs to the public.

On August 23, 2013 at approximately 6:57 p.m., a suspect entered the Shell gas station located at 9510 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.  The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded currency and cigarettes.  After obtaining cash and cigarettes, the suspect fled from the store.  On August 26 ,2013 at approximately 8:46 p.m., a suspect entered the Sunoco gas station located at 12040 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring.  The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes.  He received those items and fled from the store.  On August 28, 2013 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a suspect entered the Shell gas station located at 11150 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring and displayed a handgun.  He stole cash and cigarettes.

Investigators believe that the robberies were committed by the same suspect based on surveillance photographs and the similar actions of the suspect.  Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect from the photos or has information about these robberies to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or leave a Crime Solvers tip here.  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
