Detectives Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Annapolis Rock Road

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred this afternoon in Damascus.

Today at approximately 3:36 p.m., officers from the 5th District responded to the 6900 block of Annapolis Rock Road for the report of a personal injury collision.  Preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2005 Mercedes-Benz ML500 (SUV) was traveling eastbound on Annapolis Rock Road and was making a right turn into a private driveway.  As the SUV was making the turn into the driveway, a 2007 Honda 1000RR motorcycle, traveling eastbound on Annapolis Rock Road, collided into the back of the Mercedes.

As Montgomery County police officers and Montgomery County Fire&Rescue personnel responded to the scene, an off-duty Howard County firefighter came upon the collision and attempted lifesaving measures on the driver of the motorcycle.  Montgomery County personnel continued lifesaving efforts but the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz is identified as Lauren Fishman, age 44, of the 10900 block of Brewer House Road in Rockville.  A 14-year-old female was a front seat passenger in the SUV.  Both occupants of the SUV were uninjured.

The operator of the motorcycle is identified as Alan Evans, age 51, of the 8600 block of Felsview Drive in Laurel.
