The Montgomery County Police Explorer Program is part of a national program intended to assist young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 in learning about the many aspects of law enforcement as a career.  Explorer training includes classes and demonstrations in many aspects of police work. Each year, Explorers contribute thousands of volunteer hours to the police department as well as to various civic organizations.

Every second year, the Explorers are provided the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills at the National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference (NLEEC).  This year, Montgomery County Police Explorers will travel to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the conference. This conference, held from July 14 through July 19, will include the participation of hundreds of other Explorer Posts from all over the country. During this conference, Explorers will compete in various events and will have the opportunity to attend seminars and attend presentations from some of the top law enforcement professionals in the nation. Explorer Post 1986 hopes to send its Explorers and advisors to the conference/competition.

The Montgomery County Police Explorer Program is always looking for young adults (ages 14 to 20) to join the group.  For more information on the Explorer Program and how to apply to the group, click here.

Explorer Post 1986 is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization. Donations of cash, goods and services can be made via the donation and Pay Pal links on the Explorer web site (www.mcpexplorers.org).
