Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Family Crimes Division have arrested a swim coach on charges of committing sex offenses and child abuse.

Christopher Thomas Huott, age 52, of the 8100 block of Westside Boulevard in Fulton, Maryland was arrested this morning.  Huott is the founder and owner of the Maryland Suburban Swim Club in Laurel, Maryland.

In March 2014, detectives were contacted by a female victim who disclosed that Huott had engaged her in sex acts on numerous occasions while she was a minor in his care.  Huott was the victim's swim coach when these incidents occurred.  These incidents occurred in Montgomery County.

Based on the above, Huott is charged with three counts of committing a third degree sex offense, one count of committing a second degree sex offense, and one count of child abuse.  He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Due to Huott's position with the Maryland Suburban Swim Club and his access to children, detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims of Huott.  Anyone with additional information about this incident or anyone who feels that he/she was victimized by Huott is asked to contact the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400.
