Suspect Charged in Murder-For-Hire Case

Montgomery County Police Department- Major Crimes Detectives have arrested and charged Ndokey Peter Enow, age 37, of the unit block of Swan Stream Court in Gaithersburg, with solicitation to commit first-degree murder.  The intended victim of the crime was Enow's ex-wife.

On the evening of June 3, Major Crimes detectives received information that Enow was attempting to hire someone to kill his ex-wife.  Police learned that Enow had offered a person $1,000 to kill his ex-wife and had provided photographs of the victim and the victim's address to that person.

On June 6, an undercover Montgomery County Police officer, posing as a "hitman", met with Enow in Silver Spring.  Enow solicited the undercover officer to kill Enow's ex-wife and gave the officer partial payment.  Enow also showed the officer where the victim lived and provided photos of the victim.  After the meeting concluded, the suspect was placed under arrest.

During police questioning, Enow confessed to the crime.  He was transported to the Central Processing Unit and charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and attempt first-degree murder.  He is being held without bond.

Montgomery County Police detectives were able to locate the intended victim and confirm that her welfare was good.
