Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Major Crimes Division have arrested brothers, Antonio Knox, age 20, of the 700 block of Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring, and Anthony Knox, age 21, of the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring, with an armed carjacking that occurred on June 27 in Silver Spring.

On June 27 at approximately 11:51 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 8101 Fenton Street in Silver Spring for an armed carjacking that had just occurred. The 27-year old victim spoke with officers and stated that she was sitting in the passenger seat of a 2014 Ford Focus in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven. Her friend, who had been driving, had gone inside of the store to make a purchase. As the victim was waiting for her friend, three males approached the vehicle. One of the suspects pushed the victim's head (her vehicle window was open) while another suspect displayed a handgun. The victim fled from the vehicle and called police. At approximately 1:25 a.m., patrol officers located the stolen Ford Focus, parked and unoccupied, in the 700 block of Silver Spring Avenue.

That night into the next morning, Major Crimes detectives continued to investigate the crime at the 7-Eleven. At approximately 1:40 a.m. (June 28), two of the suspects, now identified as Antonio and Anthony Knox, returned to the 7-Eleven. The victim, who was speaking with detectives in the store parking lot, immediately identified the suspects. The suspects were then arrested by officers. During police questioning, both suspects admitted to involvement in the crime. They were transported to the Central Processing Unit and charged with armed carjacking.

Detectives continue to investigate the identity of the third suspect involved in this crime and are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect. Investigators believe that the third suspect goes by the nickname of "Freak."
