Juvenile Suspects Arrested for Strongarm Robbery

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 15, 2014

On July 4, 2014, just after midnight, three juvenile suspects approached the victim in front of Wheaton High School and asked to see his phone. The victim began walking away when the suspects began to punch the victim and took his cell phone and wallet from his pockets.

The victim was able to identify one of the suspects (Defendant #1). Defendant #1 was later located and arrested at his residence on July 10, 2014. Defendant #1 confessed to punching the victim and stated Defendant #2 and Defendant #3 took the victim’s property. Defendant #1 later identified Defendant #2 and Defendant #3.

Defendant #2 was also located and arrested at his residence on July 10, 2014 and admitted to being present at the scene. Defendant #3 was later arrested at his residence on July 11, 2014. Defendant #3 confessed to taking the victim’s property. Defendant #2 and Defendant #3 advised that the stolen property was thrown down a nearby sewer drain. No property was recovered.

Defendant #1 was detained and sent to the Noyes Children’s Center while Defendant #2 and Defendant #3 were released to their parents.
