Concern For Missing Silver Spring Man

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 79-year-old man.

Yequan Fan, of the 12000 block of Herringbone Manor Drive in Silver Spring, was last seen at the Air and Space Museum located at Independence Avenue and 6th Street SW Washington DC on July 25 at approximately 3:30 p.m. He is believed to be on foot and possibly attempting to use public transportation.

Mr. Fan is described as an Asian male, 5’6” tall, and weighing 160 pounds. He has short gray and black hair.  He was last seen wearing a blue sweater, khaki pants and carrying a red bag.

Family and police are concerned for his welfare because Mr. Fan suffers from dementia, his primary language is Mandarin Chinese and he speaks little English.

Anyone with any information regarding Mr. Fan’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.
