Detectives Investigate Serious Pedestrian Collision in North Bethesda

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred last night in North Bethesda.

Yesterday, at approximately 11:15 p.m., after an on-duty officer witnessed the collision, 2nd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Rockville Pike and Executive Boulevard for a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the pedestrian had been crossing the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike when he was struck by a Toyota Venza that was traveling southbound on Rockville Pike.   The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene.

The pedestrian is a 24 year old Bethesda man.  He was transported to Suburban Hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Venza has been identified as Madani Diallo, age 57, of the 1800 block of Metzerott Road in Adelphi, Maryland.
