Update: Possible Sightings/Missing Gaithersburg Man

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a missing Gaithersburg man.

Martin John Rogers, age 54, of the 12900 block of Riffle Ford Court in Gaithersburg, was last seen on Thursday, August 21, at approximately 7:30 a.m. as he left his residence to go to work in Rockville. On that day, Rogers was driving a blue 2001 Audi A4 with Maryland tags: 1BF6739. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Since that time, police have received multiple calls regarding possible sightings on the towpath of the C & O Canal. Earlier in the week, Rogers was reported to have been in the Cumberland area and the northern portion of the towpath outside of Montgomery County. Today, August 28, Rogers was reported to have been seen at approximately 8:20 a.m. in the area of Edwards Ferry, near Poolesville and Violettes Lock near Darnestown.

Rogers is described as a white male, approximately 5’10? tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has gray/white hair and blue eyes. He wears glasses and was last seen wearing brown khaki pants and a green and tan checkered, collared shirt.

Police and family remain concerned for Rogers' emotional well-being and physical welfare.
