Update: Double Fatal, Single-Vehicle Collision on Woodfield Road - Identities Released

For Immediate Release: Sunday, August 31, 2014

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a double fatal, single-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Gaithersburg.

The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver is being identified as Thomas Christopher Collier, age 32, of the unit block of Delta Court in Gaithersburg.  The front-seat passenger is being identified as Daniel Lee Byron, age 26, of the same address.

The rear-seat passenger, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, is being identified as Kobi Assaraf, age 26, of the 600 block of Rollins Avenue in Rockville.

The circumstances of this collision remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620. Callers may remain anonymous.
