Concern for Missing Children and their Mother

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) and the 5th District Investigative Unit are currently investigating the whereabouts of Catherine Hoggle, age 27, of the 12200 block of Elm Forest Court in Clarksburg, and her two children, Jacob Hoggle, age 2, and Sarah Hoggle, age 3, of the same address. Catherine Hoggle is diagnosed as having paranoid schizophrenia.

Last night (September 8) at approximately 8:00 p.m., Troy Turner contacted police regarding his missing common-law wife, Catherine Hoggle, and two of their three children, Jacob and Sarah Hoggle. The family, to include Catherine, Troy, and their three children: Clint, Jacob, and Sarah, live at a residence in the 12200 block of Elm Forest Court in Clarksburg. Catherine’s father, Randy Hoggle, also lives with the family.

Troy Turner explained to police that on September 7 at approximately 1:00 p.m., while he was at work, Catherine Hoggle’s father drove her and Jacob and Sarah to Catherine Hoggle’s mother’s home in Gaithersburg. Catherine borrowed her father’s car, a gray 2012 Nissan Rogue SUV, and told her parents that she was going to bring Jacob to get some pizza. Catherine returned to her mother’s home after approximately three hours but did not have pizza or Jacob with her. Catherine told her parents that Jacob was at a known playmate’s home. Catherine then returned to her home with Sarah. Investigation by police detectives on the evening of September 8 determined that Jacob had never been at his friend’s home during that time. (Detectives are still working to confirm where son, Clint was during this time).

On September 8 at approximately 5:50 a.m., Catherine left their Clarksburg home with Sarah and told Troy that she was dropping of the child at a daycare center. Catherine returned home at approximately 8:30 a.m. and said that she had dropped off both children (Sarah and Jacob) at an unknown daycare. Troy, who works nights, did not have knowledge that Jacob had not returned home from his grandmother’s home the previous night. That morning, Troy brought their other son, Clint, to the school bus stop.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on September 8, Troy dropped Catherine off at a daily medical appointment. At approximately 2:00 p.m., Troy picked up Catherine from her appointment and expressed to her that he wanted to pick up Sarah and Jacob. Catherine was not forthcoming with information about the children’s whereabouts so Troy decided that they would go to the 5th District police station to ask for assistance. Before going to the police station, Troy and Catherine stopped at a restaurant near the Germantown Transit Center (located at 19945 Aircraft Drive). Unbeknownst to Troy, Catherine left the restaurant and he then contacted police. A K9 bloodhound track indicated that Catherine had exited the restaurant and walked to the Germantown Transit Center.

Catherine Hoggle is described as a white female, 5’06” tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder length black hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black tank top. Sarah is described as a biracial female, 3’6? tall, 40 pounds, with brown eyes and medium length brown hair. Jacob Hoggle is described as a biracial male, 3’0” tall, weighs 25 pounds, with brown eyes and a curly, blond afro.

Investigators believe that it is possible that a friend or someone known to Catherine may be watching the children and not realize that family members and police do not know the children’s whereabouts.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Catherine and/or her children is asked to immediately call 9-1-1.

*The model year of the Nissan Rogue was changed to reflect the correct model year of 2012 on 09/09/14 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
