Detectives Continue to Investigate Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a homicide that happened Saturday.

Yesterday at approximately 4:57 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 24100 block of Pecan Grove Lane in Gaithersburg for a stabbing that had just occurred. Officers located a 55-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers also located the suspect at the scene, an 18-year-old male who was the victim’s nephew; he was taken into custody. Both the victim and the suspect reside at the residence on Pecan Grove Lane.

The victim is identified as Russell David, age 55. The suspect is identified as Andrew David, age 18.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation between the victim and suspect occurred in the residence.

This homicide is an on-going investigation. Detectives continue to examine forensic evidence and are awaiting the Medical Examiner’s findings. No criminal charges have been placed in this case at this time.
