Concern for Missing Wheaton Juvenile

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public's assistance in locating a missing juvenile from Wheaton.

Jelani Bates, 14 years old, of the 4000 block of Sigsbee Road, Wheaton, Maryland was last seen on October 28. The juvenile was seen leaving around 4:00 pm to catch the bus to the Glenmont Metro Station. Police and family are concerned because she has not been in contact with family.

Jelani is described as a black female, 5 feet 07 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and long black hair in braids. She was wearing blue overalls, a white shirt, and black New Balance sneakers.

Anyone with information about Jelani Bates’ whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24hrs). Callers may remain anonymous.
