Suspects Identified in Numerous Robberies of Businesses

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division have identified two suspects in robberies of numerous businesses in Montgomery County. Dominique Banks, 18 years old, who has no fixed address, is currently being held in Prince George’s County on unrelated charges. Trayvon Sykes,16 years old, of Lanham, Maryland, is currently being held in Montgomery County on charges related to the robberies and has been charged as an adult.

On October 13, Takoma Park Police responded to Jolee Dry Cleaners at 6494 New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park for an armed robbery that had occurred at approximately 6:12 p.m. The victim provided descriptions of two suspects. An undisclosed amount of cash was obtained.

Also on October 13, 3rd District officers responded to Cameron’s Seafood at 8603 16th Street in Silver Spring for an armed robbery that had occurred at approximately 7:09 p.m. The victims provided descriptions of two suspects. An undisclosed amount of cash and personal items were obtained.

On October 17, 3rd District officers responded to Subway located at 8040 13th Street in Silver Spring for an armed robbery that had occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. The victims were able to provide descriptions of two suspects. An undisclosed amount of cash and personal items were obtained. Additionally, both suspects physically assaulted one of the victims.

Each of the suspects has been charged with several counts of armed robbery and use of a handgun during the commission of a felony.
