UPDATE: Layhill Death Now Ruled a Homicide

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section continue to investigate a homicide that was discovered on December 6th in the 2300 block of Eagle Rock Place in the Layhill area of Silver Spring.




Today, the victim is being identified as Jonathan Edward Terril Harris, 26 years old, of that address.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has now ruled his death a homicide.




On December 6 at 10:47 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for a burglary that had just been discovered in the 2300 block of Eagle Rock Place.  4th District officers responded and found Jonathan Harris deceased inside the home. He had obvious trauma to the top portion of his body.  Harris was initially found by his mother, who then called police.
