Montgomery County Police Major Crimes-Homicide Division is currently investigating three deaths that occurred in a house that was part of the plane crash area in the 19700 block of Drop Forge Lane in Montgomery Village.

On December 8 at approximately 10:43 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call for a house on fire in the 19700 block of Drop Forge Lane. Several additional calls were received for a house on fire and an aircraft down in the same area. Montgomery County Fire Rescue and police units responded to the area. Fire Rescue located the house fully involved in fire and an aircraft nearby.

Once the house fire had been extinguished, Fire Rescue's Technical Rescue Team worked several hours to make the house safe for entry and to fully search the structure. Three victims were located on the second floor of the home. The victims have been identified as Marie Gemmell, age 36, Cole Gemmell, age 3, and Devin Gemmell, age 1 ½ months. All three were residents of the house.

Police are working with both Fire Rescue and the National Transportation Safety Board as the investigation into the plane crash and deaths continues. Police are coordinating with National Transportation Safety Board in releasing the identities of the 3 victims who were inside the plane.  Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 301-279-8000.
