Detectives Investigate Attempted Sexual Assault in Wheaton

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Special Victims Investigations Division are investigating an attempted sex assault that occurred at the Wheaton Metro parking garage last night.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. last evening, the 33-year-old victim was opening her vehicle door in the Wheaton Metro parking garage (located at 11010 Veirs Mill Road) when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect, described as a black male in his teens and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, approached the victim; he was holding a gun to his side.   The suspect demanded that the victim follow him and perform a sex act. When the victim refused to comply with the suspect’s demands, he fled from the scene. The victim exited the parking garage in her vehicle and called police.
