Update: Suspect Charged with Wheaton Sexual Assaults and Additional Crimes

For Immediate Release: Friday, December 12, 2014

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Special Victims Investigations Division have arrested and charged Christian A. Jordan, age 20, of the 3000 block of Plyers Mill Road in Kensington, with committing two sexual assaults at the Wheaton Metro garage and have charged him with additional crimes to include the armed robbery of a taxi cab driver.

  • At approximately 9:00 p.m. on December 8, the 33-year-old female victim was opening her vehicle door on the second level of the Wheaton Metro parking garage when she was approached by the suspect, now identified as Jordan, who was holding a gun to his side.  Jordan demanded that the victim follow him to the area of the pedestrian bridge and perform a sexual act. This pedestrian bridge crosses over Veirs Mill Road.  When the victim refused to comply with Jordan's demands, he fled from the scene. The victim exited the parking garage in her vehicle and called police.
  • On December 10 at approximately 11:00 p.m., the 37-year-old female victim was walking on the second level of the Wheaton Metro parking garage (located at 11010 Veirs Mill Road) when she was approached by Jordan. He displayed a gun and demanded that she perform a sexual act near the pedestrian bridge.  The sexual act was interrupted when Jordan heard someone walking up the garage stairs.
  • On December 10 at approximately 11:15 p.m., a cab driver was in the taxicab stand at the Wheaton Metro when Jordan entered his cab and asked to be driven to the area of Plyers Mill Road.  When the cab driver turned on to Plyers Mill Road from Georgia Avenue, Jordan displayed a handgun and demanded the cab driver's money.  Jordan obtained cash from the driver and then fled from the cab.
  • On December 11 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the female victim was walking in the area of Brunswick Road and Calgary Road (which is in close proximity to the Wheaton Metro station) when she was approached by Jordan.  He asked for directions and then produced a handgun.  He demanded that the victim go with him.  The victim fled and so did Jordan.
Officers responding to the December 11 call quickly realized that the description of the suspect involved in this incident matched the description of the suspect involved in the previous assaults.  Based on the victim's description of the suspect, officers located Jordan at the Westfield Wheaton shopping mall in the JC Penney store stairwell.  The December 11 victim identified Jordan as the suspect.

During questioning, Jordan made admissions of committing the crimes.

Jordan was transported to the Central Processing Unit and was charged with two counts of first sex degree offense, three counts of armed robbery, and three counts of kidnapping in connection with the above described crimes.  He is being held without bond and will have bond review Monday.

During the investigation, Montgomery County police officers worked with Metro Transit police officers to identify the suspect and conduct focused patrols in the area.
