Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Financial Crimes Section are investigating a case of credit card fraud during which two female suspects, using the victim's stolen credit cards, purchased approximately $8,500 worth of gift cards in approximately 8 minutes. Investigators are releasing photos of the suspects and are asking for the public's help in identifying them.

On December 5, the 39-year-old victim was eating dinner at a restaurant in the White Flint area of Rockville when she received phone calls and text messages from her credit card companies. The companies were alerting her to the fact that large purchases were being made on her credit cards: $4,000 to a Visa card, $4,000 to an American Express card, and $530.05 to a MasterCard. The victim looked in her purse and realized that her wallet was missing. Detectives are still investigating whether the victim's wallet was lost or stolen.

Investigation has revealed that the fraudulent purchases were made at the Target located at 5700 Bou Avenue in Rockville. Detectives obtained surveillance video of two females using the victim's stolen cards to make those purchases of gift cards and are releasing the video footage to the public. The recording shows the two females walk in to the Target store at approximately 7:20 p.m., approach check-out at approximately 7:24 p.m., and exit the store at approximately 7:28 p.m.
