UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Bel Pre Area Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division have made an arrest for the homicide of Oscar Uriel Navarro, age 36, of the 14000 block of King Lear Court. Mauricio Morales-Caceres, age 22, of the Bel Pre area was arrested on December 28, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the 14100 block of Grand Pre Road and charged with first degree murder. He is being held without bond.

On December 23, 2014 at 3:37 p.m. the Emergency Communications Center received a call for a possible death in a residence located in the 14600 block of King Lear Court. Fourth District officers responded and found Navarro deceased within his residence. He had trauma to his upper body.

Mr. Navarro’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy was performed. The manner of his death was ruled a homicide as a result of sharp force injuries.

Forensic evidence was collected from the homicide scene.  A bloody palmprint was identified as belonging to Morales-Caceres.  Investigators learned that Morales-Caceres and Navarro were known to each other socially.
