Silver Spring Gas Station Armed Robbery – Video Surveillance Released

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the December 22, 2014 robbery of the Shell gas station located at 9510 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Today, detectives are releasing store video surveillance and photographs of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on December 22, the first suspect entered the Shell gas station while he talked on his cellular phone. The second suspect then entered the gas station and placed an object between the door and its frame to keep the door ajar. Both suspects approached the counter and yelled at the store employee to give them cash; the second suspect displayed a handgun. The suspects stole money and cigarettes and fled from the store.

The first suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a black and gray North Face jacket. The second suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, black mask, and jeans.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of these robbery suspects is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of these suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
